Chocolate – the food of the gods
Who doesn’t like chocolate? We offer a fabulous Chocolate making class where you make, temper, taste and bring home your very own chocolates.
French chocolatier Benoit Lorge spends his time making chocolate. He has won seven Good Taste Awards, two of them Gold. Benoit prides himself on following the traditions of the true French artisan, creating chocolates that look great and taste fantastic. Based in Kenmare his chocolates are found in the very best shops in Ireland.
Benoit starts by revealing how to source the finest ingredients, how to melt, temper, pour, mould, cool, decorate and finish terrifc chocolate. He will teach us how to work with dark, milk and white chocolate each one prepared with love and attention. And he’ll share his special recipes for truffles, pralines, crème de cassis and other delicious fillings.
Then it’s your turn – like all Fabulous Food Trails, this is a hands-on day! Benoit will guide you as you temper, fill and decorate and create the most fabulous chocolates that are almost too good to eat. Almost! We keep it simple, there is no need to buy any special kitchen equipment to make these chocolates.
The day finishes with a glass of prosecco (or coffee if you prefer) and lots of chocolate tasting. You leave with some gourmet chocolate recipes and best of all a box of exquisite chocolates you made with your own hand. Just the thing to dazzle your friends with!
